     Janine has been practicing massage since 1988, leaving her job as an environmental chemist to do massage full-time in 1992. In addition to her role as school Director, Janine maintains a private practice at 1 E. University Parkway (Massage at University One). She teaches continuing education workshops as well as continuing to take numerous continuing education workshops.
   
 

Teresa Fenby

  Teresa graduated from the Academy of Medical Arts & Business in 2001 as a massage therapist and received her certification later that year from NCBTMB. For the last ten years she has worked outside of Harrisburg, PA as a massage therapist and lifestyle educator with Dr. Christopher Turnpaugh, a Chiropractic Neurologist, as well as in various salons & day spas in Harrisburg, Hershey, and Baltimore. Teresa moved back to Maryland two years ago, and in addition to instructing, she maintains practices at Merritt Athletic Clubs in Towson and at Turnpaugh Family Chiropractic in Pennsylvania. Teresa is certified in Swedish, Sports, Deep Tissue, Prenatal, Postpartum, Infant and Fertility massage as well as Reflexology. She also has experience with Hot Stone massage, Trigger Point and Myofascial release, and Craniosacral and Neuromuscular therapy.

Jeffrey Grabelle

       Jeffrey is a Nationally and State Certified Massage Therapist who maintains a private massage therapy office in the Mount Vernon area of Baltimore, Eager Street Therapists. As a massage therapist, he is trained and specializes in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage, Foot Reflexology, and Thai Yoga Massage. He is also a Reiki Master. Other continuing education courses/certifications include Yoga, CPR, HIV/AIDS and Communicable Diseases, Ethics, Pathology, Massage for People with Special Needs, and Yamuna Body Rolling. Jeffrey has also managed an HIV/AIDS community service organization, AIDS Action Baltimore, for 17 years, providing counseling, educational and emergency financial services to people with HIV disease in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

Emily LaBathe

     Having worked at the University of Maryland, College Park, Health Center doing massage from 1999 to 2003, in 2003 Emily established the therapeutic massage program at Johns Hopkins University Student Health and Wellness Center, where she sees clients from the Hopkins community.  Emily also maintains a private practice, working out of offices in Towson, Columbia and Takoma Park.

     Emily has completed a four year training program at the Institute of Body Psychotherapy in Silver Spring, MD with Elliot Greene and Barbara Goodrich-Dunn.

     From April of 2002 to August 2006 Emily took CranioSacral Therapy classes with the Upledger Institute, completing CranioSacral I and II, CranioSacral Therapy for Pediatrics and Somatoemotional Release I and II.  In January 2007 she began work as a teaching assistant with the Upledger Institute for Craniosacral Therapy I.

     Emily has also taken workshops in Zero Balancing, Sports Massage, Energy Work, Myofascial Release, among others.

     Before coming to Holistic Massage Training Institute, Emily taught classes in massage, grounding, the effects of bodywork on Art Expression, couples massage and movement classes.

        Joseph is a practitioner with advanced certification and training in traditional Chinese medical massage.  He is skilled in the application of a variety of adjunctive modalities, including cupping, moxabustion, and Chi Kung exercises.  He has successfully treated clients with orthopedic conditions related to the back, neck, and muscular injuries; carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ; and strokes.  He has received extensive clinical training in the People's Republic of China.

     Greg began his journey into bodywork and became an active member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals in 2001. he is a graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage and taught, all parts of the curriculum, there for over 6 years. He was awarded Instructor of the Year in 2005. Prior to Greg's massage certification, he was practicing the musical arts and received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Eastern and Asian thought from Towson University in 1995.

     In 2006 Greg earned his certificate as a Personal Fitness Trainer through the NSPA. Besides a private practice, Greg has worked as a massage therapist for About Faces Day Spa, Quest Fitness and is currently the lead therapist at the Massage Envy clinic in Columbia MD. He specializes in Deep Tissue and Trigger Point techniques. Greg is fascinated by the body/mind connection and how bodywork enhances the communication between the two sides that make us dynamic balanced human beings. In the future, Greg plans to receive training in research techniques at the National Institute of Health in DC. "I believe that the more we document the scientific effects of massage on the body, we will discover even further and deeper health benefits."

    Tanisia originally attended school at Port Charlotte School of Massage Therapy in 2002, and completed her massage therapy training and graduated from Holistic Massage Training Institute in 2008.  She has studied Myofascial therapy and meridian massage, and has learned multiple spa treatments. She is a Reiki Master in the Usui tradition, and offers a healing massage that is an Esalen-influenced blend of Swedish, deep tissue, and deep listening/intent.

       Catherine has been practicing massage since 1988.  In her private practice in Silver Spring, MD she specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Japanese Trepidation, Thai and Active Isolated Stretching.

     She has a separate practice in Organismic Therapy, a modality that incorporates nurturing direct touch with somatic education (based on the work of Stanley Keleman) and verbal analysis.  In addition to working with individuals, she teaches body/mind group workshops (for example:  "The Neck:  Bridge or Battleground between Mind and Body")
