Entrance Requirements

To be considered for the 600 hour massage therapy training course, the applicant must be at least 17 years of age (provided that they will be 18 years old at the time of graduation) and possess a high school diploma, GED certificate or a college transcript reflecting achievement beyond the high school level.

Alternatively, prospective students may opt to take the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST) entrance exam, offered here at the school.  A passing score on this exam will allow the applicant to enroll in lieu of submitting either a high school transcript or GED.  Prospective students who opt to take the entrance exam rather than submit either their high school transcript or GED must receive a minimum WBST score of 350 or higher (translates to 70%) at the Level 3 on the verbal section, and a minimum WBST score of 350 or higher (translates to 70%) at Level 2 on the math section in order to be admitted into the 600 hour massage therapy training program.  The cost for taking the exam will be $80 and students will be allowed one retest.

In order to benefit from the training, he or she should be in good health and have reasonable stamina, as the work of a massage therapist can be physically demanding. It is expected that he or she will have the motivation to complete the program in the time allotted, and have the aptitude to study the written, technical, and practical material, as well as have the financial resources necessary to complete the program.

All applicants will be interviewed prior to admission into the program. A maximum of ten students will be accepted into each class, giving a student: instructor ratio of 10:1.
