Soaring Crane Qigong

    In this class you'll learn Sitting Meditation, Liver Cleansing Remedy Routine, Tonification Stance, and 5-Rountines. The form you'll learn is based on an ancient system of exercise derived by observing nature, and it incorporate traditional Chinese medical theory. You’ll find these exercises consist of gentle and easy to learn movement's bridging balance and harmony of the body, mind, spirit and breath. Level I will compliment any weight loss program and is beneficial towards cardiovascular health. The Chinese Soaring Crane QiGong has been linked to increased energy, reduced stress, enhanced mental clarity and focus, as well as overall health and well being.

 
 

Reiki Level 1 : Grounded Hands-On Healing for Self and Others

June 8, 2008 (Sunday 9 a.m.-5p.m.)

    The history, explanation and benefits of Reiki including how Reiki encourages an acceleration of the body's own healing process will be in the manual and discussed.  A Reiki 1 attunement will be given to the students by Emily LaBathe,  a Reiki Master.  The Reiki practitioner symbol (the Reiki Power Symbol) will be shown and the students will be taught how to use it.  Reiki hands-on healing techniques and hand positions for self and others are in the manual and time will be given to  practice these.  Also, techniques for using the Reiki Power Symbol for protection and making sacred space will be shown and practiced.  There will be a discussion on the increased intuition and connection to higher self  which happens with the practice of Reiki as well as how Reiki can be used for personal trasformation and self-empowerment.  A Reiki 1 certificate will be given.

 
 

Thai Massage

September 5-7, 2008 (Friday-Sunday), 9 a.m.-5p.m.

    The Thai Massage course focuses on the fundamental techniques and principles of Thai Massage. This is a beginner level course, designed for massage therapists or massage therapy students who have very little or no experience with Thai Massage.

The emphasis of the course is on safety, body posture and movements, and correct performance of basic techniques used in Thai Massage.

     The course consists mainly of practical demonstrations followed by practical exchanges, where the students will have the opportunity to practice the techniques under supervision. The course aims to provide the basis and initiate the interest for further study in Thai Massage.

 

Introduction to Craniosacral Therapy
October 4-5, 2008 (Saturday-Sunday, 9 am - 5 pm)

    CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the CranioSacral System (the physiological body system comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Developed by John Upledger, DO,OMM, this work is used to enhance the body's natural healing processes, to improve the operation of the Central Nervous System, dissipate the effects of stress, enhance general health and strengthen the immune system in its resistance to disease. Craniosacral therapy is highly effective for the treatment and relief of a number of ailments, including: migraine headaches, TMJ syndrome, neck and back pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and sciatica.

     This introductory course was designed by the Upledger Institute to provide students with hands-on training and a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of CST. For practitioners who wish to continue their CranioSacral training, $125.00 of the tuition for this course may be applied to the Upledger Institute Craniosacral Level I course.
